Smartwatches and wearables, factory-direct from Shenzhen
Smartwatches and fitness bands sit naturally beside phones: same customer, same counter, same accessory upsell in replacement straps and chargers. Shenzhen makes most of the world's own-brand wearables. Ériu Sourcing finds the factories that build them well, checks the radio and cybersecurity paperwork for your market, and ships tested stock or your own-brand range to your door.

Guangdong (Shenzhen wearables cluster)
Shenzhen's wearables factories build for many of the own-brand watches sold across Europe, usually on a shared companion app. The real differences are battery life, sensor quality, app quality and whether the maker can prove EU radio and cybersecurity compliance.

What we verify at the factory, before the container is sealed
Goods that fail compliance or pre-shipment QC stay in China at the factory's cost, you do not pay freight on non-compliant product.
Ask about compliance documentation →- RED 2014/53/EU, including the cybersecurity requirements of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30 that apply to internet-connected radio equipment and wearables, mandatory from 1 August 2025
- GDPR: companion apps handle health and location data, so we check where data is stored and what the app's privacy terms say
- RoHS 2011/65/EU, plus WEEE and battery producer registration for the importer in each market
- Health features sold as wellness features, not as medical devices, unless the product holds a medical-device certification
- Selling outside the EU? We match the paperwork to your market: CE or UKCA plus PSTI for the UK, FCC for the US, ISED for Canada, RCM for Australia, TDRA for the UAE, and ICASA or NRCS for South Africa
What this lands at, delivered to you
Own-brand wearables bought from the factory cost a fraction of the big-brand equivalents, and the margin sits with you rather than the brand. Price depends mostly on screen type, sensors, GPS and the app. We quote landed cost per model to your country, including freight, duty and import VAT or GST.
Lead time and logistics
Lead time: Stock models within 1–2 weeks; own-brand packaging and watch faces typically 3–6 weeks, then air express or sea freight.
Wearables ship retail-packed and cartonised. Built-in lithium batteries ship as batteries contained in equipment (UN3481), which is simpler than loose batteries but still needs the right declaration.
Import rules for where you sell
Tax, duty and certification differ by country. Each market page sets out what applies, with sources, and how we check it before you pay.

Do smartwatches from China meet the rules in my market?
The good ones do, but you have to check. In the EU, wearables with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi must meet the Radio Equipment Directive, including its cybersecurity requirements since 1 August 2025; in the UK, PSTI applies to smartwatches; the US needs FCC authorization, Canada ISED, Australia the RCM. We check the documents for the exact model and your market before you order.
What about the health data the app collects?
Companion apps collect heart-rate, activity and sometimes location data, which is personal data under GDPR. We check which app a watch uses, where its data is stored and what its privacy terms say, so you are not selling a watch tied to an app you would not want your customers on.
Can I sell smartwatches under my own brand?
Yes. Most Shenzhen wearable factories offer own-brand watch faces, packaging and manuals on a shared companion app, with fully own-brand apps on larger orders. We confirm the minimum order for each option.
