UAE & Gulf · Shenzhen Electronics

Electronics direct from Shenzhen factories, with the paperwork the UAE actually asks for.

Portable power stations, home battery storage, smart home devices, IP cameras, smartwatches and chargers, made by the factories that build them for global brands. We check the certificates against UAE rules before you pay, and inspect every order before it ships.

The short answer: We source electronics direct from Shenzhen factories for UAE importers and re-exporters. Expect 5% GCC customs duty and 5% VAT, TDRA type approval for anything with a radio, and MoIAT conformity certification (ECAS or EQM) for regulated products, which we check before you pay.

The problem

The cheapest part of importing electronics is the product. The expensive part is the paperwork you did not check.

Electronics fail at the border, not in the factory: a missing certificate, a test report for a different model, a battery shipped without its transport test, a radio device without the approval your market needs. Each one can mean a held shipment, a relabelling job or stock you cannot legally sell.

We start from the rules where you sell. Before a deposit is paid we check that the factory's certificates and test reports cover the exact model for the UAE, then we inspect the goods before they leave Shenzhen.

Importing into the UAE

What applies when you bring shenzhen electronics into the UAE.

Checked 16 October 2026. Rules change, so we confirm what applies to your exact products and HS codes in your quote. This is general guidance, not legal or tax advice.

Import VAT: 5%

VAT of 5% is charged on the CIF value plus duty. VAT-registered importers can account for it on their VAT return if their customs number is linked with the Federal Tax Authority; others pay before release.

Customs duty: 5% of CIF

The GCC common external tariff is 5% of the CIF value on most goods. Some products are exempt or rated differently, so we check your HS codes.

Registration

You need a UAE trade licence and a customs client code. Importers of telecom equipment must also be registered with TDRA as a supplier.

Low-value e-commerce shipments

Dubai Customs raised the duty exemption for eligible e-commerce shipments from AED 300 to AED 1,000 CIF in July 2026. It applies in Dubai to eligible shipments only, so check before relying on it.

TDRA for radio devices

Smart home devices, cameras, smartwatches and anything with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or cellular radio need TDRA type approval per model, and a release permit per shipment.

MoIAT conformity (ECAS / EQM)

Regulated products need an ECAS or EQM certificate of conformity from the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology before sale. We check which scheme covers your products.
