You know this moment

Three days after the repair, she's back at your counter.

The screen you fitted on Tuesday has a dead strip down one side. Or the touch jumps on its own. Or it went black in her pocket. She isn't angry yet. She just wants it fixed, and she's quietly wondering whether she should have gone to the shop down the road.

So you open it up again. Another screen from your stock, another half hour on the bench, no charge, and a little less margin on every repair that week. If you're lucky, she never mentions it online. If you're not, it's the review everyone reads first.

Here's what makes it worse: that screen was faulty before it ever reached you. Nobody switched it on at the stall in Shenzhen. Nobody switched it on at the wholesaler. Nobody switched it on at the courier depot. You were the first person to test it, and you tested it inside your customer's phone.

Why it keeps happening

The phone parts trade has no test bench in it. So we built one.

A huge share of the replacement screens sold around the world start in one place: Shenzhen's Huaqiangbei electronics market. From there they pass through traders and wholesalers, each adding a margin and none adding a test. Grade names aren't standardised, so one stall's "soft OLED" is another's hard OLED. Batches get mixed. Batteries sit on shelves for months.

Ériu Phones & Parts puts a test bench between the market and your bench. We buy in Shenzhen, and every screen is powered up and checked before we pay for it and before it's packed. The ones that fail stay in China. You only ever pay to ship parts that passed.

Our edge

We don't buy from a price list. We buy from the floor.

Huaqiangbei, in the middle of Shenzhen, is where China's phone trade happens: floor after floor of counters selling used iPhones, new Android phones, screens, batteries and every small part a repair shop needs. Prices move by the day. Quality moves by the counter.

Plenty of suppliers sell phones from an office somewhere else and buy from whoever answers their messages. Our buyer works those floors full time. He picks up the phones, compares counters, knows which traders grade honestly and which don't, and walks away from batches that won't pass our bench. That is how a small shop in Manchester, Lagos or Dubai gets the same buying power as the big distributors.

What "tested" means here

Six checks on every screen. You get the record.

  • Powered up on a test board: dead and stuck pixels
  • Colour and brightness uniformity on white, black and colour fields
  • Full touch grid, edge to edge, plus multi-touch
  • Frame, flex and connector fit against the model
  • Graded honestly, labelled by model and grade
  • Recorded against your batch, so any claim can be traced

Batteries are capacity-tested and date-checked one by one. Small parts are function-tested from every batch.

Who's behind it

A name you can hold to account.

Ériu Phones & Parts is run by Noel Murphy, an Irishman who has lived and worked in China for 18 years. The operation behind it has run a logistics and fulfilment business in Shenzhen since 2011, with a 53-person team in China and warehouse space it owns and operates.

So when we say your parts were tested before they shipped, it isn't a subcontracted promise from someone you'll never reach. We're there, and you can message me directly.

Straight talk

Who this is for, and who it isn't.

  • You fix phones every day and you are tired of paying twice for one repair.
  • You want to quote a warranty on your repairs and mean it.
  • You buy through wholesalers and want to be one step closer to the source.
  • You sell phones and want stock you can put your shop's name behind.
  • You need one screen today. Buy locally; express from China can't beat the shop down the road.
  • You only want the cheapest part, tested or not. We're not the cheapest. We're the ones that work.
  • You want parts with copied brand logos. We don't sell them.
Questions shop owners ask

Before you send your first list.

Do you sell phones as well as parts?

Yes. Used and refurbished iPhones, used Samsung Galaxy phones, new Android phones in global versions, tablets and iPads, smartwatches and earbuds, alongside screens, batteries, small parts and accessories. Mix them in one tested shipment.

Where do you buy?

In Shenzhen. Our own full-time buyer works the Huaqiangbei market floors, the heart of China's phone trade, and everything is tested on our bench in Shenzhen before it ships.

Can I buy a single phone or a single screen?

No. We sell wholesale by the batch to phone shops, repair businesses, online sellers and distributors. If you need one phone or one screen for yourself, a local repair shop or retailer is the right place.

Is there a minimum order?

We sell by the batch, mixed across models, grades, parts and accessories. Tell us what you sell and roughly how many, and we confirm what works for your country, because very small shipments cost more per unit.

Can I get a stock list, a price list or videos of stock?

We do not publish one. Stock and prices move daily on the Huaqiangbei floor, so our buyer quotes against your list of models, grades and quantities. The test video is of your own batch, after your deposit and before you pay the balance.

Which countries do you ship to?

Worldwide, wherever express carriers and the law allow. Most orders ship door to door by DHL, FedEx or UPS express; larger orders can go FOB China to your own forwarder. In many countries we can quote duties paid, so there is nothing to pay on arrival. We confirm the route and cost for your country in your quote.

How does payment work?

You pay a deposit, we buy and test your batch in Shenzhen, and we send you the test video and the test record for your parts. You pay the balance only when you are happy with what you have seen. Then we ship.

What happens if a part arrives dead?

Send us a photo or a short video within 14 days. If the part arrived dead or fails our stated test spec, we replace it free on your next order or credit it. Parts damaged while being fitted are not covered.

Can batteries be shipped by express?

Often yes, on dangerous-goods-approved services, depending on your country. Batteries need a UN38.3 report, correct packing, Class 9 labels and a declaration, which we handle. Where express is not possible they travel by sea with a larger order.

Will aftermarket iPhone screens show a message?

On recent iPhones, a screen that is not a new genuine Apple part shows a notice in Settings, and the phone keeps working. What else changes depends on the grade and iOS version, so we tell you exactly what each grade shows on the current iOS before you order.

Do you sell copied brand parts?

No. Aftermarket parts are sold as compatible ("for iPhone 14"), genuine pulls are described as genuine pulls, and we do not ship anything carrying a copied brand logo. Copies get seized at customs and damage your name.
