Action cameras and wearable cameras, factory-direct from Shenzhen

Action cameras, clip-on body cameras and dash cams are gadget lines that sell well beside phones, and Shenzhen builds most of the own-brand models on the market. Ériu Sourcing finds the factories with real image quality and real paperwork for your market, tests samples before you commit, and ships retail-ready stock or your own-brand range to your door.

Where this is made in China

Guangdong (Shenzhen camera and imaging cluster)

Shenzhen's imaging factories build action and body cameras on a small number of shared chipsets, so models that look identical can differ a lot in sensor, stabilisation and battery quality. Testing samples side by side is the only reliable way to choose.

Compliance for your market

What we verify at the factory, before the container is sealed

Goods that fail compliance or pre-shipment QC stay in China at the factory's cost, you do not pay freight on non-compliant product.

  • RED 2014/53/EU for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth models, including the cybersecurity requirements of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30 from 1 August 2025
  • Common Charger Directive (EU) 2022/2380: digital cameras are in scope, so USB-C charging is required
  • RoHS 2011/65/EU, plus WEEE and battery producer registration for the importer in each market
  • GDPR: businesses using body-worn cameras to record people must meet data-protection rules; we source the features (encryption, access control) that make that easier
  • Selling outside the EU? We match the paperwork to your market: CE or UKCA plus PSTI for the UK, FCC for the US, ISED for Canada, RCM for Australia, TDRA for the UAE, and ICASA or NRCS for South Africa
Landed-cost context

What this lands at, delivered to you

Own-brand action and body cameras from the factory cost a fraction of the big-brand equivalents. Price depends on sensor, stabilisation, storage security and battery. Import duty depends on how the camera is classified in your country, so we confirm the code and give you a landed cost including freight, duty and import VAT or GST before you order.

Lead time and logistics

Lead time: Stock models within 1–2 weeks; own-brand packaging typically 3–5 weeks, then air express or sea freight.

Cameras ship retail-packed and cartonised. Built-in or packed-with batteries ship under UN3481 with the right declaration. Spare batteries sold separately are handled as dangerous goods.

Common questions

Electronics, sourcing questions answered

Something not covered here? Ask the team →

Do action cameras sold in the EU need USB-C?

Yes. Digital cameras are on the Common Charger Directive's list, so models placed on the EU market since 28 December 2024 need USB-C charging. We check this on every camera we source.

Can businesses use body-worn cameras?

In most countries, yes, but recording staff or the public means processing personal data, so data-protection law applies (GDPR in the EU and UK) and the business needs a clear purpose, signage and retention rules. We source cameras with encrypted storage and access control, and recommend you take local data-protection advice.

How do you choose between similar-looking cameras?

Many Shenzhen cameras share chipsets and housings but differ in sensor, stabilisation and battery quality. We collect samples from shortlisted factories and compare them side by side on footage, battery life and app before you place an order.
