Compliance checked at the factory, not at your port
Ask about compliance documentation →Glamping cabins and container homes are buildings, and every country has its own planning and building rules. We work only with factories that can provide structural calculations, energy-performance data and product documentation your local architect or engineer can use in a planning or building-control submission. For the EU, that includes CE-related documentation and insulation specified towards near-zero-energy (NZEB) expectations. For other markets, we check the factory can document the standards your market requires. Documents are checked at the factory before shipment. Local planning and approval stay with you.
Every order includes full compliance documentation. Goods that do not meet the standards for your market stay in China at the factory's cost, you do not pay freight on non-compliant products.

Sourcing glamping pods & cabins from China, the full picture
Cabins and pods are the units guests book first. They work in rain and cold, they look good in photos, and they can earn all year. The problem is cost. Buying a comparable unit from a local prefab supplier is expensive, and traditional builds take far longer. Factory-direct supply from China changes the maths.
Types of units: packages, not boxes
We do not push a single model. We build a package around your site and your guests. Glamping pods (timber or light-steel, ~12–25 m²) suit 2–4 guests. Container cabins (20–40 ft) cover studios to family suites at ~20–70 m². Expandable and foldable units unfold on site, so more units fit in each container and clusters go up faster. Sanitary blocks let you keep pods simple and share facilities. Reception, café and service containers complete the site.
Cost at a glance
Factory-direct, glamping pods and expandable cabins start from roughly €6,000 ex-factory. Landed, with freight, duty and our fee included, buyers typically pay around 30–50% less than for equivalent units bought through local prefab suppliers. Build times are far shorter than traditional construction. Duty and VAT or GST depend on the product code and your market, so we quote the full landed cost, including freight, duty and import tax, for your country. Our country market pages set out the import rules for each market we ship to.
Planning, regulations and compliance
In most countries, a pod or container cabin connected to services and used as accommodation is treated as a building and needs planning permission or local approval. Energy rules are getting tighter in many markets, so insulation, windows and heating must be specified correctly from day one. We work with factories that can provide structural calculations, energy-performance data and product documents your local architect or engineer can use. You run the local approval process. We make sure the factory side supports it.
Combine factory-direct pods with a strong site concept and good marketing, and a 3-pod cluster can realistically recover its capital outlay in 2–4 seasons in a high-demand tourism region. Our job is to push your unit cost down and your build quality up.
Glamping Pods & Cabins, sourcing questions answered
How much does a glamping pod or container cabin from China cost?
Ex-factory, a glamping pod or expandable container cabin starts from roughly €6,000 for a basic unit and runs to about €15,000 for a mid-range, insulated, ensuite pod. Larger one- to two-bedroom container cabins cost more. As a landed reference, a 3-pod cluster (three pods plus an optional shared sanitary unit) has typically landed in the €45,000–€80,000 band before foundations and groundworks, around 30–50% below buying equivalent units from a local prefab supplier. Freight, duty and VAT or GST vary by market, so we quote the full landed cost for your country, with factory price, freight, duty, our fee and contingency set out before you commit.
Do glamping pods and container cabins need planning permission?
In most countries, yes. Once a pod or cabin is connected to services and used as accommodation, it is usually treated as a building and needs planning permission or local approval. Many markets also set energy-performance rules. Rules vary by country and often by local authority, so assume formal approval is needed. We supply the structural and energy-performance documents your local architect or engineer needs. The application itself is yours to make.
Are container cabins warm and comfortable enough for year-round glamping?
Yes, when insulation and detailing are done properly. We specify wall build-ups with 80–150 mm of PU or mineral-wool insulation (heavier for cold climates), double or triple glazing, electric heating, and acoustic treatment in the roof to deal with rain noise. Thermal bridging at floor edges and corners is the usual weak point, so we resolve it at design stage. A poorly detailed unit leads to condensation and guest complaints. Factory vetting and pre-shipment QC are there to stop that.
What types of glamping units can you source from China?
Timber and light-steel glamping pods (~12–25 m²), 20–40 ft container cabins (studios to family suites, ~20–70 m²), expandable and foldable units that unfold on site, prefab sanitary blocks for shared facilities, and reception, café and service container conversions. Interiors can include a bed area, kitchenette, ensuite shower and WC, double glazing and electric heating, adapted to your site and your market.
How long does it take to get glamping cabins from China to my site?
Production usually takes 8–12 weeks once the design and payment schedule are signed off. Shipping time depends on your country and the route, so we confirm the carrier schedule in your quote. Prepare foundations and services in parallel, so your local contractor can assemble and connect the units as soon as they arrive. Expandable and foldable designs fit more units per container, which cuts freight cost on clusters.
