Every solar job is now a battery job. Buy the batteries direct.
LiFePO4 home batteries and hybrid inverters from the Huizhou and Shenzhen battery cluster, with ESB Networks, EU battery and dangerous-goods paperwork checked before anything ships. For solar, EV-charger and electrical installers who want the margin on storage. We supply and ship from China; your team does the installing.
Storage has moved from upsell to standard
From 6 October 2026, a new grant of up to €600 for residential batteries was reported to sit alongside the solar PV grant of up to €1,800, with PV eligibility widened to homes built and occupied before 2025 and fully funded solar-plus-storage for medically vulnerable households. More customers will ask for a battery on the first quote.
Most of the batteries and hybrid inverters sold in Ireland are made in Guangdong. Huizhou is home to major lithium cell makers, and Shenzhen and Dongguan build the packs and inverters behind many European brands. Buying from those factories, with the right checks, moves the brand importer's margin onto your side of the quote.

The storage kit an installer actually fits
Batteries and inverters
LiFePO4 home batteries, wall-mounted or stackable, typically 5–15 kWh, in low- and high-voltage formats. Hybrid inverters, single and three phase, with EN 50549-1 certificates for Irish settings and app monitoring.
Portable power and accessories
Portable power stations and folding solar panels for customers who want backup without a fixed install, plus EV chargers, cabling, isolators and mounting kits on the same order. Portable power stations →

Storage is regulated. That is why buying direct needs a partner on the ground.
A battery that cannot be connected, insured or legally shipped is worth nothing to an installer. These checks happen before you pay the balance, not after the container lands.
- ✓ESB Networks: inverter type-test certificate to IS EN 50549-1 with current Irish settings, for the exact model
- ✓Battery safety: safety test reports for stationary storage (for example IEC 62619) and the EU Battery Regulation's requirements
- ✓Transport: UN38.3 report for every battery model, DG packing, labelling and declaration
- ✓CE: LVD and EMC for batteries and inverters, RED (including cybersecurity) for wireless monitoring
- ✓Cells: cell maker and grade documented, so you know what is inside the box
- ✓Support: warranty terms, spare stock and the RMA route agreed in writing before the first order
From first call to rolling orders
Scope
Your typical systems, single or three phase, annual volume and the monitoring platform you prefer.
Shortlist
Two or three vetted battery and inverter pairings, with certificates, datasheets and landed pricing.
Trial
A pallet-sized trial order to prove the kit, the paperwork and the support on real installs.
Ship
Dangerous-goods sea freight booked with a carrier that accepts batteries; inverters in the same container.
Roll out
Forecast your season, and we group orders and production slots so stock is ready when your installs are.
This is a good fit if…
- You fit solar every week and storage is becoming part of most quotes.
- You buy batteries through a distributor and want that margin back.
- You already buy EV chargers or solar kit and want one supply line.
If you only fit a handful of batteries a year, a local distributor will be simpler, and we will tell you that on the first call.
Supply only. Ériu Sourcing sources, checks and ships equipment from China. We do not install anything in Ireland. Installation, ESB notification and any grant-scheme paperwork stay with you as the installer; we make sure the equipment and documents you start from are right.
Home battery sourcing, questions answered
Last reviewed: October 2026
Do you install the batteries?
No. Ériu Sourcing is a sourcing and supply service: we find the factories, check the equipment and paperwork, and ship from China to installers and businesses in Ireland. We do not install anything. If you are a homeowner looking for a battery, talk to an SEAI-registered installer; if you are an installer, we can supply you.
Is there a grant for home batteries in Ireland?
A residential battery grant of up to €600 was reported to take effect from 6 October 2026, alongside the solar PV grant of up to €1,800 and wider eligibility for homes built and occupied before 2025. Grant-funded jobs come with SEAI rules on installers and equipment, so check SEAI's current requirements for each model before you quote. We supply the certificates and datasheets you need for that check.
What does ESB Networks need for the inverter?
For microgeneration, ESB Networks requires the inverter to comply with IS EN 50549-1 with current Irish settings, and the installer's NC6 notification must be accompanied by a type-test certificate. Systems above roughly 6 kVA single phase or 11 kVA three phase move into a different connection process. We check the certificate covers the exact inverter model and Irish settings before you order.
How are home batteries shipped from China to Ireland?
As Class 9 dangerous goods (UN3480), usually by sea on pallets. Each battery model needs a UN38.3 test report, correct packing and labelling, and a dangerous-goods declaration, and the booking has to go with a carrier that accepts them. We handle all of that and ship inverters in the same container.
What do the EU battery rules mean for an installer importing batteries?
Whoever places the batteries on the Irish market takes on producer obligations under the EU Battery Regulation: labelling, safety documentation for stationary storage, and producer registration. Industrial batteries over 2 kWh also need a digital battery passport from 18 February 2027, and stationary storage batteries are generally treated as industrial batteries. We check how each supplier will meet these before you commit to a range.
What order size makes sense?
Because batteries ship as dangerous goods, freight per unit drops sharply when you order by the pallet or container. Many installers start with a pallet-sized trial to prove the batteries, inverters and support, then move to rolling orders. If you only fit a handful of batteries a year, a local distributor will make more sense, and we will tell you that.
